Facebook Doppleganger

This afternoon I happened to run across myself in a Facebook search. Normally that wouldn’t be anything significant if it weren’t for the fact that both my first and last names are rare and uncommon. My normal Facebook friending policy is that I will only send or accept friend requests from people I’ve met in person at least once. Obviously I have never met my Facebook Doppleganger, but the fact we share the same name almost obliges me to friend him. Given the rarity of our last name, and the part of the country he appears to reside in, it might even be possible there is a distant family relationship. That makes it all the more weird. Of course, he could always ignore my friend request.
